1 Thessalonians 5:17,18
"Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will
for you in Christ Jesus."
"There is nowhere we cannot pray if we commit ourselves to it"

As Christians we desire to share our faith and witness to others. But when
False-Christian or Non-Christian cult members come to our door to talk or drop
off their literature,
we have to follow scripture
rather than let them in. These days one has to also be aware that
there are many false teachers (read Jude), even pastors of churches are falling
away and preaching another gospel. The Bible clearly
instructs us in 2 John verses 9-11 not to give any encouragement to
them:
Everyone who goes too far, and does not believe what Christ taught,
does not believe God. Anyone who believes what Christ taught, believes
both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you who does not teach
what Christ taught, do not take him into your house. Do not even greet
him. Anyone who greets him helps him in the wrong things he does.
(quote from the Worldwide English Bible translation)
In other words, don't give them a greeting, don't let them in your door,
don't shake
their
hand
and
don't
take
their literature. It's doubtful that they will be persuaded by your discussion
with
them, but
if
you
wish to talk do so outside, regardless of weather conditions.
Some have spoken with
Jehovah's Witnesses cult members and were surprised to find the following:
They did not want to go to Heaven (this really stunned me)
Were hesitant to admit that they
didn't
believe in people going to a conscious Hell.
JW's believe Jesus is just a high angel type figure. They deny the Deity of Jesus. JW's deny that Jesus is God, The Supreme Being.
Both Heaven and Hell were spoken
about by God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In so doing, they are in effect calling Jesus a liar. JW's also say that Jesus is not
God, contrary to scripture. (If you find yourself speaking with a JW cult member,
I recommend that you refer to Jesus as, in the Hebrew, YHWH, otherwise
they will attempt to persuade you that Jesus is only a high angel, is "god" but with a small "g",
JW's totally reject Jesus as YHWH Himself.) Cult members such as JW's and Morman's to name but only
2, spread a false gospel
message,
and
Satan
is
all
for that.
If you wish to say anything and they don't listen to what scripture says about
salvation through Jesus then, tell the cult members that they are doing an
evil work and that you are
praying
that
they
leave the
cult
and
accept
Jesus
to be saved. There's also some great Christian sites that give other advice on the subject.
external link: How
to win Jehovah's Witnesses to Christ at the door (youtube video) "If
you were to die today, would you be saved" JW's don't know. I think
Morman ladies wonder if their husband will call them up or not. I understand
a the rock musician is a JW now. I pray he'll accept
Jesus and turn away from this cult he is in.
Galatians 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary
to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! (NASB)
From Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
Galatians 1:6-9 Those who would establish any other way to heaven than what
the gospel of Christ reveals, will find themselves wretchedly mistaken. The
apostle
presses
upon the Galatians a due sense of their guilt in forsaking the gospel way of
justification; yet he reproves with tenderness, and represents them as drawn
into it by the arts of some that troubled them. In reproving others, we should
be faithful, and yet endeavour to restore them in the spirit of meekness. Some
would set up the works of the law in the place of Christ's righteousness, and
thus they corrupted Christianity. The apostle solemnly denounces, as accursed,
every one who attempts to lay so false a foundation. All other gospels than
that of the grace of Christ, whether more flattering to self-righteous pride,
or more favourable to worldly lusts, are devices of Satan. And while we declare
that to reject the moral law as a rule of life, tends to dishonour Christ,
and destroy true religion, we must also declare, that all dependence for justification
on good works, whether real or supposed, is as fatal to those who persist in
it. While we are zealous for good works, let us be careful not to put them
in the place of Christ's righteousness, and not to advance any thing which
may betray others into so dreadful a delusion.
Galatians 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary
to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! (NASB)
"False doctrines, a different
gospel, and even doctrines of demons have been introduced
into many churches via books, music, videos, teachers and
movements that claim to be of God. "
